Remove the headlight, there are 2 screws located at 4 & 7 o'clock, then unplug the headlight.
Then I cut the gauge pod bracket so it would fit on top of the fuel gauge housing. The bracket attaches to the housing by using 3m double sided tape.
Picture of what is left from cutting out the bracket.
I ran the wires behind the housing and the headlight.then into the headlight bezel.
The gauge slides into the gauge pod.
Next is to wire up the gauge. Behind the headlight there is some accessory leads from factory, ( White/ blue +) ( Yellow/ black - ) that i used. I'm not sure if all bikes have the same wiring color codes.
Red wire from gauge (12v battery source), to white/ blue from bike.
Black wire from gauge (ground), to yellow/black from bike.
White wire from gauge ( ignition switch source), to red/blue from bike, this wire is from the speedometer light.
There is also a orange wire from the gauge that I did not use, this dims the gauge by 30%.
TEST THE GAUGE FOR ANY PROBLEMS AND THEN REINSTALL THE HEADLIGHT.
Does look very good. Ditto on rubyrick about mounting details/photos.
