I rode a 3 day ride 1,150 mi. with 3 other riders last weekend, and one older long time rider on a BMW used a genuine sheepskin part time and as I was getting a good bit of tail pain & some burn, he had me try it for about 1/2 the days ride... The way he said he used it was only about 1/2 the time, and I agree, the change really did seem to make a big difference wheather from the sheepskin to seat, or seat to sheepskin... He had a cord loop on the front that hooked under the front of the seat to keep it from blowing or falling off if you stood up or got off the bike...
I liked the idea and am doing myself one, but from imitation sheepskin (a fluffy car wash mit w/seam removed) as I didn't find genuine sheepskin easily...
Just switching about 1/2 way through the day really made a big difference for me...
Have a good one...Old dog...
