Thanks for the advice and the options, good thinking. I'm only selling the 750 because I think the cash will help. A buddy I ride with all the time and trust is buying it too so all the better. I'll still have the meanie so I'm no where near finished riding but again, thanks for the concern. I think I've resigned myself to the fact that I need to move and keep the job rather than take the severance. I don't think there's too many jobs out there to choose from and to throw away one I already have doesn't seem very pragmatic. I'm just so tired of winter that the last thing I want to do is move further north and prolong the damn thing. Alas, the economic environment is leaving me with little choice. Just gotta suck it up and deal with the change I guess. The relo package is pretty good actually. They set you up with a realator, move all your crap for you, compensate for cost of living changes, etc. I think I'm ready for a change but I love the airport I work for now and that'll have to change as well (probably to Doylestown). Oh well, just another change I'll have to live with. I'll see what the next few weeks bring and go from there...

A move over a commute does seem like a better choice & to have a relo package to boot. Not to bad. I hate my commute & would hate to see someone move into that stagnant state of life. But of course leaving where you love to be sucks to. Sounds like you've got it under control. Good Luck.

Liberty,
Shoot me a PM I'd be glad to show you around the area and help you get around. Doylestown is a really nice area and you'd still be in PA so you don't have to switch licenses and won't get hit with the NJ property taxes (the highest in the country) or housing prices. If I were you I'd also consider Bethlehem Township. It's just over the river and not far from I-78 so it might be a qicker ride to and from work (202 from Bridgewter to the Flemington can be a real bear at times).
Here's the bright side: You'll be close enough to use John's cycle for work you don't or can't do yourself. Hiker and I both use John's and I wouldn't take my baby anywhere else.

Geez, sorry to hear about all the bad luck. Sometimes I need to stop and consider just how lucky I am. I have 32 years seniority with the City of Chandler, good pay, great benefits, job security, and it's close by. Yeah, the job sucks sometimes (mostly because of the new cars and trucks with all their electronic problems, and the fact that we are understaffed), but I get along fine with my supervisor and coworkers, and if I want a weekday off once in a while to go riding, street or dirt, when everybody else is not out there too, there has never been a problem swapping a weekend day for a weekday. I also have 2 separate retirement plans, in addition to SS, which I don't expect to ever see. I have ASRS (Arizona State Retirement System), and a deferred comp plan called a 457, with a lot of money in it, plus a RHSP (Retirement Health Savings Plan), also with a lot of money in it. You can do far worse than spending your life working for the government. You will never get rich, but it isn't bad. My house will be paid for in about 5 more years, my kids are grown, and everything else I have is paid for. (no expensive car or bike payments). I am seriously considering retiring at 55, and becoming a security guard for Walmart. They've already offered me the job. Jerry.

Thank you very much Ron. Once I get settled in, I will definitely do that. The more I look at the relo package, the more comfortable I become with it. I think I'm slowly resigning myself to the idea and as I do, more and more positive things pop up. Thanks for the added positivity man, I appreciate it.

Jerry is a lonely, old man, with nothing better to do than put down every one else and forgets to offer words of encouragement from time to time. I think that the Arizona heat has gotten to him... Maybe it is time for him to stop posting so much and go ride.

No worries man. I'm just glad to help a friend in need.
And hey, I'll have another riding partner.

First of all, I would like to apologize to LibertyPilot for my insensitive and inappropriate post. I didn't realize how bad it sounded until I reread it a couple of days later. While I do consider myself lucky, that was most definitely not the proper place to bring it up. Unfortunately, I do not have any ideas about how to deal with your situation, but I wish you the best, both as a fellow rider and a fellow human being. If I do think of anything helpful, I will certainly let you know. I am making this apology on the forum, instead of by PM, because I am the kind of guy who takes responsibility for his mistakes and have no problem admitting it when I am wrong.
And Slim, I am not old (50), I am not lonely, I have many friends, 2 wonderful daughters, and a fairly large extended family. As for the AZ heat, you try living where it is 120 degrees for half the year. And I do plenty of riding. I have 5 bikes, and ride almost every day. Jerry.

Jerry, sorry I was pokin fun at ya... but yes I miss the hot weather of AZ... or any other state that I can ride 90% of the year. I was just trying to lighten the mood... if you feel that I have a personal grudge against you...I don't... I realize you have a brash brazen side you... and I am truly sorry for offending you.
