    Hey Spockster,
My R/R was relocated to under the left cover by a previous owner, but their design is anchored using the two bolts that hold the top of the battery case in place, making it impossible to open the fuse cover without dismantling half of that side of the bike. I was looking at pictures of what other people's brackets looked like, but only saw the 'bulldog' style mounted next to the tire instead of under the side cover. You'd mentioned that you have a schematic for a bracket for under the cover, and I was wondering if your style had the same juncntion box blockage issue, or if you'd engineered a way around that.

I had a similar problem on a 1989 vn75o My idle would go all over the place like maybe the throttle cable was sticking turns out it was the air valve under the seat in front of the battery. I changed it out problem solved.

I find in one post something like this, what u think?
"Loose valve guides can cause erratic idle, but your going to see a lot of oil usage and plug fouling when they're that bad." My idle start at 1000rpm and slow increase to 3500 rpm when is hot. I have oil leak on exhoust on front cilinder .... what to do? I have compresion on bouth cilinder.....
