Hello everyone,
I have 1996 Vulcan 750.
I would pull the choke down and start the engine and it would run fine.
Once it's running and I pull the choke back up and the engine would just die on me. The only way I could ride it is if I leave the choke on. Have anyone here encounter something similar? Any kind of advice or suggestion is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Are you letting the engine warm up? I usually have to ride a mile or two with the choke on till it warms up, before taking it off.

Yup, I let it warm up for 5 minutes and even ran it for 20 miles (choke have to be on). As soon as I turned the choke off, the engine died (kinda like an optional off button).

check you idle setting. A warmed bike should idle at about 1100 rpms

How old are the spark plugs?

Is the gas fresh?

Are the air filters clean?

Just some things to look at in addition the adjusting the idle. Also if you have not tried it yet...add some SeaFoam to the gas.

Thank you for your suggestions.
I will try it all (starting with the spark plug) and let you know how it goes. http://www.vn750.com/forum/images/smilie/icon_smile.gif
