Stupid question I know. Can the VN750 run without water? Most bikes are air cooled and not sure why this bike needs coolant? Can I drain the water and ride the bike using the air to cool, or will the little engine seize? I am buying an american bike next time.

water cooled engines pretty much all operate on the same principles so the question is.. Would you run your car as an air-cooled engine?
Having been stuck in traffic on the interstates a few time due to accidents, I am very thankful my bike is water cooled. I wasn't one of the bikes that had to pull off on the shoulder because the air-cooled bike over-heated.
Which trouble-free-all-components-made-and-assembled-in-America bike were you considering?
