I have a Mustang Wide Regal Seat and find my butt gets sore after about 30 miles of riding. Looking for opinions about gel pads or memory foam pads. Some seem pretty expensive to risk not having them work well. I presntly use a lambs wool pad but it is no better than the seat alone.

I considered buying a Mustang or Corbin, but seemed like there were still a lot of people unhappy after shelling out the bucks. I went with an Air Hawk Air adjustable seat cushion and rode for 4 hours the other day without a bit of seat pain - on the stock seat, I'd only last an hour or so. Didn't try the gel, but like the air flow and coolness of the Air Hawk - and it is very adjustable.

Does the Airhawk seat replace the OEM seat, or is it supposed to sit on top of the OEM seat? I checked it out on some links, and I get the impression its sits atop the OEM seat - but that doesn't SOUND right to me. ???
Can you verify?
Also - what size did you buy?
Thanks,

The Airhawk sits on top of the seat. If you have the stock seat, you should get the small or medium airhawk pad. if you have an aftermarket seat (mustang, corbin, travelcade), get the medium.
For 100 miles or less, I just use the corbin. More than 100 miles, the corbin gets too firm for me. What I like best about the AirHawk, is it is like having a dozen different seats because you can adjust it (or move around) while riding and it will feel completely different.
