I really miss living in your area. I learned to ride a bike when I lived there in 83.
Talk about kiss your a... curves. I've lived in Mount Airy and pilot mtn.
I would like to ride on the blue ridge parkway again some day.
My father and oldest brother still live there. And my Nephew is a mt airy policeman.

I am from the Raleigh area. I am always looking for a good ride. A buddy and I have ridden the BR Parkway twice now. What a fantastic ride!! Everyone should make plans to do it at least once.

And don't forget to work your way over to Cherokee County and ride the "Tail of the Dragon"

Just in case you're still reading the forum - you've found a rider in your area. I didn't have a bike when this was posted, but I do now.

Yet another rider in NC. I'm in Maggie Valley and l would be happy to hear from any of you that come west to the mountains. I'm located just 3 miles from the BR Parkway and nestled amongst some of the best riding in the Eastern US.

In May.... and during the week, say a Thursday, Friday. I'm thinking road trip to Asheville, NC via the Googlemaps suggested route from where ever you are in the area. From my place it's 159 mi – about 2 hours 45 mins. Arrive about lunch time. Meet up, eat up, fuel up and take a leisurely ride up the Blue Ridge Parkway to Blowing Rock, NC - 93.6 mi – about 3 hours 12 mins... likely longer with stops along the way to view the sights. Hang out in BR, have a little dinner and then go camp overnight in Julian Price Memorial Park - along with some beer. In the morning, check out the park a little, head over to Grandfather Mountain, hang out, have some lunch and go home. Any takers?
