You say when you 1st start it up and 1st take off...is it only in 1st gear?

Does it only occur in the "friction zone" or in neutral too, clutch out only or in too?

Sounds like the classic "coffee grinder" syndrome to me...

do a seach on it. Basicly your best route is to live with it, do not worry about it, and take the time to pull in and release your clutch lever a dozen times while the bike warms up before you take off.

Doesn't do it in neutral, and its fine when I start it its when I go to take off for the first time of the day in 1st gear.
I will do a search on that km. thanks

I vote coffee grinder noise. Classic symptoms.

Not anything that unusual.

Tell the wife to put the toys away before you take off, I bet that will do the trick.

Mine makes the same noise. I am going to do an oil change but I doubt that will make any difference. I am relieved to know it is a nature of the beast thing. Maybe over winter I will freshen up the clutch, springs and have the drum modified.
