I have a 1999 VN750 and everytime I back off the gas it backfires more than I want to admit to. I have Cobra pipes which were on the bike when I purchased it. I have had the engine rejetted per a dealer and still no luck. Then I was told it is the pipes if I had stock pipes this would not happen is this true. The noise drives me nuts and my neigbors aren't real thrilled either.

Does anybody have an answer?

Even after the re-jet, could it still be running too lean? Thats why a lot of us will adjust the fuel/air mixture screw and the do the coasters/marble trick.
