: Friday escape
EQPlayer 03-14-2008, 11:39 PM Blew out of work early, tossed on the rain gear and went for a ride. Only got sprinkled on once or twice.
So... slab to Morgan Hill, California, and let's check out Dunne Avenue! It winds around Anderson Lake on its way to Henry Coe state park. Bring your hiking boots sometime, it's a great park to explore.

After Dunne Ave, slabbed over to another part of the mountains for some goatie fun on China Grade Road. Something comes alive in the Vulcan when the road gets tight - this is what it was MADE for!

Highway 236, Santa Cruz mountains. I could ride this road in loops all day long, it's just that good.

Msbear31 03-24-2008, 07:58 PM I can stare at the veiw forever. Simply breathtaking. Reminds me of some of the views in NC. Who can look at that and not believe in God.
curtis97322 03-24-2008, 09:17 PM Wow. I'm almost jealous. We have roads like that here (Oregon) but nothing with that good of visibility (that I've found). I can talk about my rides, but I can't show em to ya'll.
Though that ride to Mt. St. Helens had decent visibility and places to take pics, but I didn't wanna stop ;-)
Alright thats enough I haven't been out yet ya got me droolin here
AJCruzin 03-25-2008, 12:40 PM OK all you snow bunnies that are still stuck dreaming about the twisties. I will post a link to one of my latest videos (finally figured out how to make movies and got a YouTube account) so you can live vicariously. I wasn't on my 750, but she was there in spirit....
AJCruzin 03-25-2008, 10:54 PM As promised, here's the link. As I said, I wasn't on my Vulcan, but the road is still very entertaining. ENJOY!

AJCruzin 03-26-2008, 11:23 PM No prob. I have another ride in the planning stages for weekend after next. I'm going to try and get some video of the Vulcan at that point.
kas750 03-27-2008, 01:12 AM nice pictures what camera and model # took those great shots .... ken
liljd 03-27-2008, 05:03 AM Those are the kinds of roads we have here in the Smokie's. As soon as I get a cam of my own I'll take some shots to share with ya'll. Keep 'em coming they look great!
AJCruzin 03-27-2008, 05:00 PM Ken - that was an Oregon Scientific ATC 2K helmet camera I got from Amazon.com (don't pay more than $99 for it). It takes a regular SD flash card. I use the word helmet loosely because I've never mounted it there. I think it's supposed to be for skateboarding/biking, but it seems to work fine for me. On my Ninja 250, I mounted it to the rearview mirror on the left side - that's why it looks like I'm all over the line. My wheel is right near it, which means that the camera actually IS over the line since it's to the left of the wheel. On the Vulcan, I mounted it to the brake reservoir. That video came out a bit shaky though (I'll post it for you to see). I'm going to try fully isolating the camera and mount straps from the vibes with neoprene pads. Lord knows the handlebars have a lot of vibration at higher speeds.
