Now I finally realized that I need to go to the Gathering this year I have some questions. I see that the cabins are really group cabins. Many of you must get together as groups to rent cabins together. I'm not sure how to proceed at this point. I'm sure it would be better to stay right at the resort, if only to avoid having to ride to the campground at night after an adult beverage or two. Do some people camp at the campgrounds? As long as there are shower facilities I might prefer that to renting a cabin. How far away is the campground? How about some advice from some of you old-timers.
Thanks

There are cabins that are not group cabins, you can get a smaller one or share one larger one with somebody.
Typically, a few will group together to share a cabin; usually 3-5 for the smaller cabins, and I think at one point there were 9 or 10 of us in the Teton. Bulldog, Chad and I shared a room. One person will post that they've reserved a cabin, and ask if anyone wants to share. As the Gathering gets closer, someone'll usually pop up and ask if anyone's got room left, and others will answer. Currently, I think there's eight of us signed up for the Teton, and I think there's another lodge the same size. One has signed up for Cabin 12, with no confirmation yet on who else will be staying in it.
Brad Tuschhoff came down from Cape Girardeau, MO last year; dunno yet if he's planning on this year, tho.
There's a database started over on the Yahoo group. It doesn't usually start filling out much until the Gathering draws nearer; I think around May, early June.
