: She wont budge!

I was hoping that someone out there has had success in taking apart the rear assembly/final drive. I'm unable to budge the retainer. I frabricated a part and welded a bar onto it. I bent the part. Needless to say the tool I made was fast and dirty. I thought since I removed most eveything else that this should come right off. It's proving me wrong. The new seals, bearings and rings are waiting to go in. My next step is to make a new tool out of plumbing pipe or something close. I was hoping others have had this problem and can give me some advice. Thanks :hitanykey

The service manual says it gets torqued to 181ft/lbs, so it's on there pretty good.
Maybe an impact gun is what you'll need?

When I had a similar looking part on my old dirtbike that needed removed, I got a large piece of steel bar then drilled and tapped 4 holes in it (where the indentations in the part were) and used hardened set screws for the fingers on the tool I made.
Since the set screws didn't need to really be tight in the bar, I put them in backwards, so the hex part was inside of it, reducing the chance of them breaking once force was applied.
To turn the tool I made, I used a bigass pipe wrench.
