Hi folks.
Recently imported a 1988 VN750 but have problems getting it registered as the custom authorities demand me to provide an 1988 invoice price (or factory cost). Have tried in Denmark, UK and Germany but no useable response (if any).
Anyone out there able to help?

P.S. The custom authorities do not have any precedence, so I reckon that mine is the only VN750 in our little country.

Have previously tried Kawasaki in UK and Germany (via Kawasaki-europe.com) but no reply. Addidional I tried one of the dealers (kawadrom.de) in Germany with same result. So things seems to be pretty stuck.

Yeah I found the NADA prices, but they were asking for MSRP. Which to me means the original suggested retail price. Don't know why that would have any bearing on an older bike, but it is a foreign government.. probably some tax/import thing.

Yea, seems rather strange to me too. But exact reason is that the custom authorities/motor vehicle inspection require the invoice prise/factory cost (what the importers paid the factory for the bike back in 1988) as a basis for the calculation of the registration fee.
That's the letter of the law. So I'll let the question stay open, hoping that somebody has some contribution.

I think that the 87 was around 5895. I know the price hasn't changed much over the years.
