The pumpkin on the back tire, where the splines are located, does it get hot when you ride? I just did about a 50 mile loop and I got home, got off and felt the pumpkin and it was pretty hot. Normal? Not normal? I haven't checked to see if they were lubed yet. But I did change the oil back there not to long ago. Just making sure. I realize that it should get a little warm, there are a lot of moving metal parts in there and friction will cause heat...Just checking really. Thanks!

Ya know, maybe put your bike on the centerstand and see if you've got some free movement in your back wheel. I mean, you're right about the moving parts and all, and, yes, things do get warm (especially when it's darn near 100 degrees out!). But I was thinking again about your thinking the bike is sluggish - just make sure you don't have the rear brake set up too tight.

Well hello again Cindy and thanks for the quick response...maybe I should just call Dr. Cindy from now on for my problems!! That was the first place I looked actually and it seems to be good. I think your right with temp it was up here today. It never gets like this so everything is a surprise when it does. Things seemed a lot hotter on the bike than normal, but I wonder why? LoL Could it be the 100deg temp outside?! DUH! Thanks again Cindy!

It is normal for it to get warm, If it is to hot and will burn you than it can be bad.
I don't know the exact temp but should not burn you like a exhaust but cooler than the motor.

Yeah, it was cooler than the motor and a lot cooler than my awesome fishtails. It was heated, just making sure it was normal. I figured it would get warm naturally due to what it does....but I had a lot going through my head with the phantom failure I experienced. Thanks for the thoughts guys!
