I'm turning 30 on monday and was having trouble sleeping tonight so i thought i would see what was new with the rest of you bad a$$ bikers. So a long with a good amount of hair I feel like I'm loosing that cool guy James Dean biker thing. Pants are getting tighter lot more hair in the shower drain and with a three year old in the next room the best thing I could think to do at 3:30 in the morning is check in with you guys. Come on someone tell me it is not as bad as I think it is. Not complaining just ... okay complaining but i got if off my chest. By the way Misfit thanks for the tips and encouragement things are going good with the bike hope yours is to.

Thanks guys it's not going so bad. I took the day off and me and my son have been working on my seat all day. Mom bought me a new TV and my wife got me some cool bike stuff. Thanks to everyone at vn750 you guys are the coolest.

Happy Birthday! If it makes you feel any better, I would be here too if I had nothing to do at 3:30 AM.

Tomorrow morning when you get-up, look in the mirror and see what changed between yesterday and today (I purposely did that - everything looked the same). Betcha its nothing :) I turned 32 on Thanksgiving, gotta admit, 32 bothered me a little bit more with Pink Floyd's 'Time' floating in my head. Then again I didn't remember it was my birthday fora few hrs. Bottom line, I still went for a couple mile hike in the woods, went shot-for-shot with my Russian Uncle & could still do everything I could do for the past few years. Granted I can't do what I did at 25 so easily.... but I ain't done yet ;)

Happy Birthday - its a reason to celebrate what you've accomplished in your life, be grateful for family & friends..... not a reason to lament that only one more day out of the thousands and thousands has passed. My cousin in her 50s now swears the time between 30-50 are the best, so welcome aboard, run for US Senate and enjoy the day!

It really isn't as bad as it seems.. Well.. there are a few things you have to consider though..
Pants are getting a little tighter? If you don't do something about it they will continue to get tighter and in 30 more years you will be walking around Miami Beach with your waistband up under your armpits, wearing a white belt and white shoes and looking like Tweedle-Dee.
My son.. (34.5 yrs old) is finding this out. Fortunately he works in Construction so he stays active. Your metabolism will start to change as you get older. Someone.. once said.. If I knew I was going to live to be this old I would have taken better care of myself..
Listen to them! *L* You can and will still be able to do everything you use to do, it just takes longer to recoup from it *G*
Now on the plus side.. Start planning for the future. In 15 years when that 3 yr old is ready to branch off on their own, you will have GREAT Freedom! Start positioning yourself now so that you have the health and means to enjoy it.
30 isn't bad, really. If I had it to do over again I would listen more to the suggestions I just gave you. Fortunately I woke up a bit at 40, and now 50 is a breeze! (No smart-a$$ remarks either cause this bad-a$$ biker babe can still whoop ya! I'm a redhead and know how to use it! Just ask Misfit!)

Stone, don't sweat it. It really is just another day. Nothing changes overnight. I am 41 going on 21. I am a full time firefighter with two job, three kids 21-18-17. I have an ex-wife, no life, a lot of friends and my bike. Life is only a matter of perspective. And only you can control your perspective. So each day choose to be happy and ride. Get up, get to it and do the right thing. Exercise, try to eat right, and ride. Don't worry, be happy. I am lucky enough not to have any of the aging aches and pains. Never had a back problem or bad knees. Life is grand, make time to ride. Hug and kiss those you love as often as you can, and have I mentioned, ride.

Happy belated birthday. 30 is not bad at all, and turning 30 did not bother me, 40 did not bother me, but I had expected that it would. 45 did not bother me, but I think 50 is going to. One thing I did notice about the time I turned 45 or so is that my hair is greyer than it used to be, I have crows feet, and my joints ache now and then, aand it is harder to see where the *&^%$ small pieces need to go when I put things back on the bike.. The other thing is that the older I get the less patience I seem to have with crap that wastes my time. Other than this, getting old is easy ... ;-)

The 30's are great, enjoy the decade while it lasts..

Happy belated birthday. I turned 34 on 26th. Turning 30 didn't bother me but for some reason turning 31 really did. As long as you have good health and good freinds your age shouldn't matter.

Happy Belated Birthday!

I have no magical words of wisdom but I have learned that life is what you make of it. As you get older, your perspective changes...what you thought was important seems not to matter as much anymore. Thought that I would fall to peices when I turned 40 this year, but instead have embraced the freedom that maturity can give you. Ride on....
