Is there a way to disassemble the shocks? I want to rebuild mine, but I cannot find anything about doing this.

I don't believe they are rebuildable.

Someone on here did it, but said it was a major PITA.
You can find shocks for sale all the time.

I want to change the springs out. I don't need to tear apart the inside. I just nned to get the retainers off.

You can not rebuild the shocks. You can change the oil in the shocks. It's descibed in the maintenance manual and looks to be a serious PITA.
