We aren't quite sure yet. I've suggested to the GUI goddess that we consider replacing that column with a link to the members home page that they have/may have listed in thier profile.

I think reputation is a measure of something that goes up based on the number of your posts, and points that may have been awarded to you by a moderator (or maybe the admin - not sure yet) for excellent information etc... However, I've only glanced at it and tried playing with it briefly, and to be quite frank, it is way down on the list of things we've got to do to get this board in tip top shape. The todo list is growing...

There are also things like titles and ranks, which also are determined by the number of posts a user has submitted. I've played around with them some. But they are redundant in my mind, and I don't see a reason for both. Just something else that is on the back burner. I'm sure people will have excellent suggestions for these things as the board matures.

Good catch BTW

Deleting a message is part of the edit option.
If you want to delete a message, click on the edit icon in the lower right of the message. You should see something like

To delete this message, check the appropriate option below and then click the 'Delete this Message' button.
Delete Options
Do Not Delete Message
Delete Message
Physically Remove Message
Just check the one you want (Delete) and then click the Delete this Message button below it

Figgered it out! On each post you see that little scale on the upper right? CLick on that to "vote" on the post (Approve/Disapprove). Can't vote on your own posts. As people agree (or approve of) your posts, your reputation goes up.

Of course SOME people started with maximum scores. Guess we need to vote thenm down to the rest of us <G>

LOL, I don't care if you vote me down, but if you Vote down the Search Goddess, the Forum Owner or Jax, do so at your OWN risk. LOL
You just might find your avatar or name looking a bit strange the next time you log in.

Good Luck!, I'm staying out of this one.. <BG>

I am a 64 yr. old "Newbie" with an '04' 750. The bike run fine but it has started to use about a quart of oil about every 2000 miles. It does not leak, there is no oil in the coolant, the exhaust is sooty but dry, only a small amount of white smoke can be seen on a cold start then nothing. The front plugs burn super clean , the rear plugs are carboned up but dry. There is no visible oil in the intake. Last year, I don't think it burned more than 200 mils. all season. Although I am old I do not ride slow. My two sons ,who ride with me ,always say that I ride my bike like I just stole it, fast and out of control.
Is there someone out there who can tell me what the problem might be, other than slowing down; can't do!

First I would post this in Motor.
Sounds like you may have valve seals leaking.
Smoke evenedent on start up and then goes away is evedent of that.
as the motor heats up the seals swell a little and stop the leak.
That is just a educated guess without seeing the bike.
Have you done Compression tests on the motor?
That will tell you if the rings are bad, what weight oil are you using?
If it is to thin you could get leaking by the rings, if it is to thick could blow thruogh the valve covers and burn through the carbs.

How do you send a E-mail message to a member from the members gallery? Do I have to find a post for that person in order to send them a message? I know I can comment on their pictures but how do I send them a question within this area?

Huh...doesn't look like ya can. Or at least it's not self-evident. I looked up kanuck's gallery, and although there's a "user profile" with "kanuck69," I didn't see any hotlink or option list to email him. Good question!! DMAG??

Any post from the person will give you the option to email them (just click on their sceen name)

The problem would be if that person choose to receive emails or not.

Can we duplicate the left click characteristic that is available on the poster's name within a thread? Wherever the poster's name is listed at this site we should be able to left click and receive the same universal options that the poster agreed to. This would be very helpful...I think

Just a thought

What is the best way to send in a question to this FANTASTIC FORUM ? The only way I know how is to tag on to an open forum/similar question. Is the this the most efficient way or not? (Old geaser about half computer literate; make that about 3/16).
Thanks, WWicker, San Antonio

Hey there WWicker.

What I'd do is find the appropriate forum that has to do with your question )ie...Electrical, Engine / Exhaust / Cooling, Carbs and Fuel System Ect...)
Open that forum, the click on 'New Thread' at the upper left of said forum.
Put a subject in the title line, as you would for an email (if you are familiar with that) then type your question. You'll no doubt have an answer shortly after that.

Hope that helps. If not, we can guide you even further.
