many of you have noticed that I have been bitching about the weather here in Rainchester for the past few months, well it finally got to me. I saw potentially $4000 sitting in my garage for the past few months and got a little agitated.
So my dilemma began, should I sell the bike, should I not sell the bike. I did not know what to do, I was really frustrated. On top of that my new job required me to travel a lot more and now I really had little time for the bike. To top it off, I took my girls camping this summer and they really loved it. I borrowed my parents pop up and everyone including my wife (go figure) had a great time.
So I began to scheme as to how I could go about getting a camper without breaking the bank. Well money is tight now a days so I had to get creative. I could look for a cheap pop up (I had about $1500) to spend or sell my bike and get a better one. I just could not stand the thought of not having a bike, especially a VN750, it's just an absolutely great ride.
So here I am stuck in a quandry, what to do what to do. I started looking in my local paper for campers, lots to choose from and now is the time of year to buy. Unfortunately not the best time of year to sell a motorcycle.
As I was searching through the local classifieds, I stumbled upon an ad for a 1990 VN750. Asking price was $1500. Interesting I though. I called the guy up and asked if I could take a look at it. Believe it or not it was in pretty good shape, new metzler tires, new mf battery and about 12,000 miles on it. I made him an offer of $1200 and he accepted.
Now the hard part. I have listed my 2001 on e-bay. My reserve price is $3500 and my buy it now price is $3800. If anyone here is interested, let me know.
Oh and I just found out, my lawyer is selling his 1998 Coleman pop up camper, a/c tip out, awning, the whole works for $4500. This may work out after all.
Happy trails....
