I recently had the front brake pads replaced. Looking down at the right side inboard brake pad, it is in contact with the rotor at the top, but I see a little daylight between the rotor and the bottom third portion. I anticipate uneven pad wear will occur.

The inboard pad can be moved slightly inboard and outboard (there's a little play) between the rotor and caliper body.

Any insight or suggestions about this situation?

As the brake is applied the caliper will slide on the posts, it is unlikely that you will get unevenwear. Apply the brake and watch that the pad moves if it does and the gap disappears you have no problem.
