Greetings,

A friend of mine is looking to buy a 1997 Vulcan 750, which was described as having its driveshaft changed at 15,000 miles. It now has 18,500 miles. Any idea if that sounds strange to be changing it and at only that mileage?

Thanks!

I could see the final drive going by then (especially on the NO GREASE years) so i guess the driveshaft could go too...but now I would be wondering about the drive.

If the splines on the drive shaft were dry, I could see it needing replaced along with the final drive. If I were your friend, I would pull the rear wheel and check for grease on the rear splines of the final drive and the drive shaft it self. Hey Bud, I'm up in Hopewell Jct. I come down your way a lot on my way to Ossining.
