Was riding home from an all day ride (about 300 miles) riding 2up with my wife and 8 HD riders. Had a great time even being the only metric bike in the group. Fifteen miles from home it happened. The VN750 at about 75 MPH started to lose one cyl and then both. Thinking maybe we had ran out of fuel I hit reserve nothing. As we are coasting to a stop I jiggle the key switch nothing, all the lights were working IE oil, turn signal etc. Looked at the voltmeter all OK. Dropped clutch to see if it would fire nothing. Stopped on the side of the road and it would not start. Turned over just fine. Jiggled the kill switch, key switch, some wires and anything I could think of. Nothing it would not fire. Pulled the spark plug wires and NO SPARK. One of the riders lived just a few miles from where we were and has a motorcycle trailer. Waiting for him to return and visiting with the HD Riders, who were very nice about the whole thing and didn't give me too much grief. This took about 15 to 25 mins. We were getting ready to push the bike on the trailer so I thought I would try and see if it would start. It fired on one cyl and then both. Let it run for a min and shut it off. Told them that if it would start and run ok I would try to make it to town. My wife riding in the pickup with the trailer, and all 8 HD riders followed me to town to eat some pizza. The bike ran like clock work. My question is has anyone had this trouble or an idea where to start looking. I checked the wire around the control box, reg. and headlight connectors all look ok. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks, Dave
