I live in ontario and they look at me like I have two heads when I ask for grease with 60 percent moly in it. I got told from qstate in the us that that is only used in aircraft. No one even lists the amount of moly on thier packages.
thanks before hand

From a Honda dealer, about $ 10 for the tube.

Or order it online. That's what I had to do, no honda dealers around here for 70 miles.

i spent some time looking around local and could never find anything suitable and then just ended up ordering the honda 60% from:

CALIFORNIA SPORT TOURING, INC

it was 7.98 bucks for the tube and 4.55 to ship. -

THANKS EVERYONE but they think I have two heads They ask why not just use the this or that? I say because I have people that say don't just use the good stuff or you may regret it.

Well, better you having two heads, instead being like one of those headless numbsculls !!
Other stuff will work, but not for long, and next thing ya know, you'll have grease dripping out the final drive unit, making a mess of everything. But the good side of the mess is, you then know there's no more grease in the final drive and it's time to re-lube !!

I'd say order online :smiley_th

Here is a product that I have really been satsfied with. I am sure you have heard of it ~ Amsoil. here is a link to the a heavy duty synthetic moly-grease it is on the web at amsoil.com/storefront/ghd.aspx

You can look around and see if you have a local dealer that sells Amsoil, or you can sign yourself up to be a dealer for a small fee, or I can sell you some. Either way if you have more questions visit the Amsoil website or you can email me. Good luck with finding your grease.

Does not give the percentage of Moly , just says "Moly Fortified" which can be anything from 1% up...
Many that can afford it are using Dupont Krytox...how does the Amsoil compare to this?

since it is kinda relevant for me right now i read through the verses and there is 15K miles report of someone who used "moly fortified" grease (after first 3K miles without anything). apparently there was almost no wear so i would guess moly fortified high temp grease is better then no grease at all. i'm still putting the 60% though...

I found this on 'Lubes & Filters.com' (http://www.lubes-n-filters.com/newsletters/moly-grease.html).....
AMSOIL Heavy Duty Grease (GHD) is fortified with Moly, and it's performance is evident in heavy duty applications. GHD is best suited for slower moving bushing-type bearings, such as loader bucket bushings in the construction industry or spring hangers on heavy-duty trucks.
Not quite what the spline on a Vulcan is (slow moving)
Couldn't find anything on the pecentage of Moly in it though.

Hey Boys & Girls........I just bought two 8 oz tubs of 70 % moly paste from "TSMOLY" located in Houston. I just did my splines & it worked great. It's under 20 smackers for a 8 oz tub. :pepper: Click below.....

This is probably a dumb question, but... is Moly 70 significantly better than Moly 60?! Can one have too much Moly?!

I trust to folks at Honda with Moly 60. It seems to be the moly of choice when doing up the splines.

The whole idea of using Moly is to have the Moly left behind as the liquid slowly goes away as the miles pile up. Regular grease will leave the farm in short order. Moly binds to the metal surfaces & keeps protecting your splines. Moly in itself is a dry compound. Then a paste or grease is added for a carrier. To answer your question.........Is TS 70 Moly better that Honda 60?................That's probably a crap shoot, but I am very happy with this product so far. Either one will do the job, but I ordered it online, it was shipped to my door right away, & cheaper than Honda 60.

My 2006 splines were very dry at about 1000 miles, & we just did my buddies 04 at 2500 miles for the first time & his was somewhat greased! Go figure...........

I also just pryed out my two carb low speed carb plugs & found the front setting at 3 turns out & the rear at 3 1/4 turns out from the factory, so there is no standard on anything I guess..............Now set at 3 1/4 & 3 3/4 & just marbled to get rid of most of the popping.
