Chris - snipped from the NEVROC board in case you miss it there;

Got a look at the modified handlebars on the 750 today w/ Doc, Hannah, Geez & AJ..... simple mod, but it really does something to change the bike's profile. Like Geezer said at the shop, it gives the bike a lower, wider look. For those that don't like the ears on the 750, I have to agree with Geezer that the ears look more like they 'belong' (ie, they don't stand out as prominently & look more like an accessory). The instrument cluster appears to be flush with the bar.... basically it takes away from the 750's traditional 'chopper appearance & like Ron said earlier makes it look more like the other Vulcans. As far as feel, it does change it somewhat.... feels similar to sitting on Geezer's Drifter to me as far as hand & body positioning. Since I'm so used to the traditional feel of the 750 it seemed a bit awkward for me.

I recently finished a crash repair where the handlebars were really
badly bent, and the customer wanted to see if there was an option to
changing the bars to something a little "swept back & lower". I found
a set of bars from Flanders, that, on paper, appeared to fit the
request. Let me say, the bars changed the entire look of the bike and
the feel is very comfortable, to boot. I'll try to get a pic posted
of the bike with the new bars installed. I think you guys may like
the look of the bars. It makes the bike appear more like a Vulcan
should! (No offense if you like the current look of the bike.)

Aj is Ron, one of the Wrenches at Andretti Powersports in Phillipsburg, NJ..... being you're in NE PA you can probably take a ride over there & take a look at the bike..... should still be in the shop for a while. Ask for Ron, or Terry in the parts dept, and tell em that I, Geezer or Doc sent ya for a look-see. Or if you want company post something on the NEVROC board & I'm sure somebody will go down there with ya.

As for pics.... Ron keeps promising them.... hasn't delivered them yet :(

What model Flander's bars are these??
I've been looking to do the same thing.
They look like what DKirk calls the Flander's 'Medium Tall Forward Street'.
I'm looking at either those or Flander's 'Flat Medium Tall'.
Any info would be greatly appreciated...

You might take a look at Flanders "Kawasaki LTD style replacement" handlebars. They did exactly what I was looking for. They are 3-4 inches lower than stock with slightly more pullback and no excessive "droop"

I am also looking for lower, swept back bars. I'm short and I feel like I'm reaching for the grips, even after rotating the bars back slightly. What else was required to swap the bars? Grips I'm sure but in cable mods?

I bought my 86 used. Someone along the line put a set of bars on it similar to what you are describing. My problem is they are too low, the controls actually hit the tank. I'm trying to find risers for mine but not having any luck.
