Hey, Newbie Here. Ive Been Reading Alot Of The Stuff You Guys Have On Here, Very Helpful. My Question Is About Block Off Plates That Are For Sale 0n E-bay. Im Thinking Of Getting Rid Off The Airbox And All Emmision Related Components, Including The Air/fuel Vacuum Suction Crap, Whatever It Is And Running A Couple Of Small Individual Air Filters Right On The Carbs. What Do Ya Think? Are Theses Block Off Plates Being Used By Anyone?

Welcome to the club!

I have done all of the above and like the results.

Search the site for "ear shave" and you'll find all you need to know about air box/air filter/emission removal.

Welcome,

The plates you are talking about go with a mod called coastering with is part of the "Ear Shave" although I did not see the auction you were refering to on eBay.

Blocking off the holes is necessary but you can use plugs or stoppers instead of the plates.

Ignore the K&N filter number in the posts and go with a EMGO air pod (54mm). Filter looks the same but about $20/piece cheaper then the K&N.

If you have any questions post them on this site. There are a lot of guys and gals here with tons of experience and some newbies like me that learn quick and think outside the box.

Make sure to look at the vulcan verses. It should have everything you want to know about the bike including various mods that some of us have done.
