I wanted to say to everyone I met at "The Gathering" at Kentucky Lake just how much I enjoyed meeting you. You have a great group of people and the warmth and generosity of your hearts was inspiring.
I don't ride a Vulcan 750 but you still made me feel like a part of the group. I saw a young lady wearing a t-shirt at the Gathering that said it all.

"It's Not About The Bike, It's About The Ride."

Y'all take care and ride safe.

Hey RockinRebel - you are a number 1 in my book even if you will have Ratty for a father-in-law. Just joking!
I'll share the road with you anyday buddy. You and that 'other' motorcycle you ride.
In all honesty I agree with you. We kid good naturedly about Metrics versus Harleys but it really is that you ride, not what you ride. At least half of my riding buddies ride Harleys. I was looking at HD's myself when I bought my 750.
I have a certain distain for those so called hard core riders who think anyone who does not ride the 'All American Icon' Hawg are only so much road fodder.
I like Harley's, I just chose to buy a Vulcan 750 and am quite happy with it.

Good to hear from the RockinRebel. The "Gathering" was terrific, and was made even more so by having you accompany me on the trip. We almost made it all the way home w/o hitting any rain, didn't we? But when it did rain it made up for all those near misses. I'm glad that you enjoyed the trip. I agree with you and Stargazer... "it's that you ride, not what you ride."

And at KL it is not about either, it is about the People. Nice meeting all of you, hope to see you again next year, if not sooner. Just watch out for people running around in the night with Cooking Oil.... ;-)

I agree, RB, it is about the people. That is why I was bound & determine to meet these people that I had talked to for months. I appreciate how everyone made Ralph feel at home. He mentioned several times how he enjoyed the trip.

Now we just have to get Ralph on a bike and he can enjoy the full effects of "The Gathering"
Rockin Rebel.. Hope to see you next year with the whole family. BTW I never asked, when is the date you switch from being "Future son-in-law" to "Permanent son-in-law" ?
Best wishes on your upcoming marriage. You're getting one terrific Father-in-law there! I figure the rest of the clan ranks right up there too!

Hi Dianna!!

We haven't set a date yet. My fiance is a wonderful lady and I feel very fortunate to be a part of her family. She has her own bike but because of work and school hasn't had much time to ride lately. Yeah, Ratty will be the coolest father-in-law around. A good guy and a good riding partner. We're already talking about our next trip! :-)

Y'all take care and ride safe.

Hey, that's really nice, but if y'all keep that up I may have to get a larger wheel of cheese for my head.

Ratty's little rat icon reminds me of the Rat Fink from the 60's and 70's. That being the case let me rat on him. His daughter's bike and Rockin Rebels fiancee is a...yep...you guessed it...a HD too! Actually it is a very pretty thing. Nice looking ride, Mr. Ratty is keeping it in his garage for his daughter temporarily. Seen it a few times and always admire it. His daughter has good taste in motorcycles even it is a HD. And her pick for a future husband ain't too bad either. :)
