: Nice ride this past weekend

I was able to take a ride this past Sunday with my wife. We worked our way up north to southern NY and ended up stopping in Walton NY for lunch at Papa's Family Diner. It's one of those old stainless steel places that dot the old highways. We sat in a booth next to the counter. It looked like they had a busy Sunday lunch crowd. We finally ordered and waited for our food, and waited, and waited. Finally they brought out my wife's lunch and apologized for taking so long. I had ordered a chicken sandwich and they didn't have any chicken pre-cooked so it was taking a little longer than expected. A couple minutes later my sandwich finally arrived. Both were tasty and we enjoyed our lunch. They then brought over the check and had removed my sandwich and fries from the bill because of the long wait. It was only about 20 or 25 minutes, but seemed longer. Because of this, I plan on stopping there again in the fall when we go back to see the fall foliage.

20 Miles north of Scranton PA, in Vandling. I'm about 1/2 hour from Hancock, depending on if I take the fun ride or the quick one. I had never been up to Walton before and want to ride up around there some more. Lots of nice quiet roads. Where did you used to live?

I'm from scenic Harpursville, NY about 20 miles east of Binghamton. Population 500 Hillbillies. (well 499 sice I left for Rochester) I have been to Hancock many times, froze my butt of there one November playing football.

There are some excellent rides in Central NY. You ought to go up rt 8 through Gilbertsville then on to rt 51 and through the Butternut Valley, lots of beautiful scenery and some very winding and beautiful roads. THe fall is absolutely the best time to go, wind your way all the way to Cooperstown check out the sights.

I have a couple vacation days left this year and plan on heading up that way. I was also thinking of heading up towards Earlville. I have some relatives up that way.

Ok, guys, fall is coming, riding season is coming to and end all to soon.
Lets get our act together and meet and ride.

Spence, did you bring your bike down to Binghanton like you had planned or is it still in Rochester?

If it is in rochester, I could hook up with Knuckles and M&N Killer and meet you half way, around one of the lakes. That would be a good ride guys, pretty in the fall.

My bike is still in Rochester, but ready for a great fall run. Just finished a nice weekend in Harpursville, although it was a bit cold

Let me know when

How about Sept 18 or 19. I am off that weekend and would love to go to the Finger Lakes. Mike

Either day is good for me, what lake do you want to hit? Seneca and Cayuga both have lots of great wineries on them.

Susan's wedding is the 18th and I'm going to try to make that. If you have this ride the 19th, I'll try to make it if my SO does not decide to kill me, or ground me from riding two back to back weekend ALL day trips ;-)

I'm sure weather will be a deciding factor too.
