Hi all. I was browsing through the Yahoo group this morning and decided to slide over here for a bit to check it out. I'm Mike, I built my VN750 about 3 or 4 years ago. I started with a very used bike that I picked up for $300. I rebuilt the motor, repaired the many issues in the wiring harness, replaced the junction box, fuel tank, shift lever, did an ear shave, made some coasters, and the list goes on. I'm Married with 2 daughters, my wife is planning to take the MSF course & get her license this spring. With any kind of luck, I'll be looking for a bike for her when she finishes. Currently, my older daughter (10) rides with me every chance she gets, the younger one (8) is still not too sure. I guess I should stop babbling now, & start reading posts.

Welcome Mike -

There are a couple of us that ride together here in the Tampa Bay area. I am sure we can find a central spot and put togehter a larger ride.

Sounds like you are competant around a wrench, that can't hurt!

thanks for the welcomes, I've been known to build a few things. Mostly bikes & Jeeps. I tried boats for a while but they were way too expensive for me!

Welcome Mike. :smiley_th
I lived around the Ft Lauderdale and Davie areas of Florida for awhile (both a good bit south of ya) and it woulda been really nice if I'd have had a bike then.

Some useless Florida info time... The McDonalds in Davie FL is one of the few McDonalds that wouldn't be surprised if ya rode up to the drive-thru on a horse and they have a corral for horses in the parking lot.

And I guess seeing as you're already familiar with the Y! group, I might as well not mention it as another source of great info for the Vulcan.
Now get to reading !! (and hope you get the wife riding with ya too)

Welcome Mike. It seems like everything you could ever ask can be answered here.

thanks for the welcomes & suggestions. Splines are good I grease them myself with moly grease. I don't like paying others to wrench on my stuff, maybe I'm too picky.
