Hello and Seasons Greetings. I am the chief wrench and general do it for my wife's '04 Vulcan. I ride an '84 Honda Magna 1100, and we cruise all around northern MD together. Although our bikes are 20 years apart in age, they were actually styled about the same period, and compliment each other nicely. I'm looking for a subtle(read that sneaky) way to deepen the sound a mite, saw a posting about drilling the "screen" in the mufflers - a spark arrester? I'm on the Magna forum for my bike, hope to learn as much here about the 750.

Welcome !!!

I ride with a buddy that has an 86' V45, much like your V65, but smaller. If I could find a newer V65, I'd have one in the garage. Just missed one last week..

Enjoy the forum.

Welcome! Where in MD are ya? North of Bal'more towards Conowingo? I'm down outside of Frederick - closer to Harpers Ferry, WV. Nice riding in both areas, however.

Welcome, Have you removed the premuffler AKA Goatbelly?
If so you can drill into the mufler yes. There is a Screen and you can drill into the baffles also from the outside back of the mufler. I used a 3/8 drill and put 3 holes around the center of the mufler.
Hope this Helps

Hey there new guy. Nice to have ya join our little part of the WWW here.

Sorry I can't be of any help on making the exhaust sound any better, other than saying mine had aftermarket pipes (I believe they're Cobras) and was degoated when I got it and I like the sound they put out alot.
Some people don't care for the 'popping' sounds that result from a degoat, which can be quieted down by the 'marble' trick, but I don't mind it.

Most anything ya need/want to know about the Mighty Vulcan 750 can be found here, so any questions, just ask.

hi and welcome.
i'm of an opinion that vehicle (any vehicle) should be as quiet as possible, i'm not interested in making it louder. but as ccspiner mentioned the first thing is to remove the goatbelly. i however can't say anything on how it sounds without it - mine is still on :)
