Besides braided brake lines, I was wondering if anyone has upgraded the front brakes on the VN?
I think my discs are just about on the minimum wear limit, so I’m curious if there are any options of interchangeable parts for the front discs and/or calipers with other motorcycles besides the VN? Also can someone tell me the size of the piston in the master cylinder please?
Even though I’m in the process of doing a minor rebuild to the 1986 VN750 that I recently bought, I’ve got to admit that I’ve never ridden one,.. including the one I’m rebuilding.
But I grew up riding ‘80s Japanese 4 cylinder bikes, (Z1000’s, GSX1100’s etc...), so I’m familiar with the ‘ordinary’ braking systems of the day. Years ago, I mounted a set of twin piston Brembo front brake calipers, with braided S/S lines to a Katana that I built, and the difference was phenomenal!!:wow:
I realise the front brakes on the Vulcan may be ‘sufficient’, but better brakes are always a good thing.:smiley_th
