Hello to all on the forum. I have been looking for some info before I pick up my first vn750. I have been riding a Kawasaki Concours, but find it is a little too top heavy.

Now, I am looking for a Vulcan 750,and I am excited about this bike. The look is fantastic. Does anyone have a wav file of a VN750 engine? I would like to hear wha it sounds like. This would be my first cruiser.
I will continue reading all the info in this forum. Looks like a lot of good stuff.
Thanks for reading

Welcome! there are a couple of bikes on ebay right now. You can go to the forums page and at the bottom under Misc. you can go directly to vn750 stuff on ebay. Look there, I think there are a couple of bikes available. good hunting!

Hello! and welcome. How bout I call you and you and put the phone up to the V&H pipes-ouch. Seriously I don't know of any sound bites but stock they sound like a very quiet Harley only smoother. If you take off the goats belly(pre-muffler) it will be a little louder and have a little lope to it.Read this site top to bottom and learn about all the little quirks of these bikes.

if you are home Tuesday (Sept 26, I can pop over and give a listen to the VN750. I just want to make sure there is some sound coming out of the pipes, and nothing to close to a Harley.
LEt m eknow and I will stop by on Tuesday.
Thanks!
Rich

Harley (I let him ride with me) buddy of mine had to pull his baffles out of his pipes, he was tired of my V&Hs sounding better then his Screaming Eagles

welcome,
I just saw a 99 750 a few miles from me for ummmm $2900. I think it had 6k miles on it. looked like an outside stored bike though...it had aftermarket grips and mirrors and saddlebags

The Yahoo VN750 Group has two sound files in the files section, V&H Cruzer pipes and Cobra pipes. And, if you want to know something if it isn't here it's probably there. Great bike to pick.

Those sound files are located under Engine, Air Intake and Exhaust. Dang it, I have my video camera with me at work today but i'm in the truck. I'll record the stock (drilled out ends) sound and post a sound file soon.

Should have read this thread yesterday. It's high 90's today...so I'm using the truck w/ac!

Yep! :) I won't ride without my helmet and joe rocket jacket and it's too hot to wear them! But, I'll be riding nearly every day from now til next August:pepper: Hee hee! 22 degrees is my coldest mornings so far on the bike. I'll go until it starts getting around 100 degrees, then I wimp out and start driving the truck and wishing it was Fall.

By the way, I posted sound files of stock mufflers and ones of the cruisers and cobras under the exhaust forum!

:notworthy

Believe me, I rode many of those days myself down here. But in August when it had been 20 or so days since we had seen the 90's and it was 109 (this isn't Phoenix where they have a "dry heat") I was too exhausted when I got home and decided it just wasn't fun at all. Plus, I figured it was awful hard on the vulcan too. So I only rode in the mornings most of those days, and would go home at lunch and trade vehicles. Over the whole Summer, I probably rode my bike all but maybe 10-15 days, so it's not like I parked it for a month! I ride for the pleasure. I just luckily get to ride nearly every day of the year.

Now I am doing the opposite. I ride the car in morning (40F) and then change over to MC at lunch.
