The fuel lines are cut to length, but since I have been pulling and replacing the fuel tank so much, I had thought about buying a longer piece and installing it. Is there any problem with doing this?

It seems that an extra 2 or 3 inches of play in the fuel line would not have any ill effects, however, it would give me more play when trying to attach/disconnect from the petcock.

This is 1/4 inch line, correct?

Off the top of my head, I don't know what size line it is, but having extra fuel line won't make any difference on performance unless the line is too long and gets creased or folded up.

Or vapor lock. Put an inline filter in there, while you're at it.
