This may be old hat for many of you, but I just stumbled onto it while visiting our Yahoo VN750 forum. If you missed the recent discussion relative to throttle locks/cruise-control devices you might find this worthwhile.
After several longer rides, including a trip to the SEVROC shindig at Lake Lure this summer, I began to see the utility of a throttle control device such as the Vista-Cruise throttle lock. Well, as y'all can appreciate, there are always new accessories that we just "must have," and while a Vista-Cruise was on my wish list, it wasn't a high priority. One of our clever members (Starr in Arkansas) has come up with a simple, yet effective, and cost conscious alternative to the Vista-Cruise accessory. All you need is a small bungee cord. It works like a charm, however, one should exercise caution until its use becomes second nature (it is necessary to manually change the throttle position for accelerating and for decelerating.)
If interested, take a peek at the gismo on the Yahoo VN750 photo section. Go to Jaremy, then to Starr Cruiser. Kudos to Starr for thinking it up and to Jaremy for posting the picture.
Ride safe,
Ratty
