The best ear plugs I've worn yet: Mack's Ear Seals. Super comfortable, reuseable - should last at least 6 months, much easier than the foam plugs to insert, and they hold a "seal" when your helmet moves. They're made right here in MI and I think I saw them at CVS. www.macksearplugs.com

Thanks for the tip. I will have to see if I can find them at CVS.

They have a pretty good DB rating too, 27db if I recall.

Bruce - where did you get yours? Anyone with luck at CVS?

They seal out wind noise as well as if not better than any other earplug I've tried.

Bruce...which ones on this page do you have?

(BTW, if it's the $100 ear plugs I'm going to have a smart ass comment about frugality!!<G>)

Knuckles,

Hope ya feel better soon. Drink lots of water and take extra Vit C! I'm taking 10 grams/day (3 grams after each meal) and my gigantic leg bruise (from a recent low-side) is healing very quickly! Give us a report on how ya like the plugs when you eventually test 'em.

UncleGomer,

These:http://store.yahoo.com/earplugstore/macksearseals1.html

I still can't get over the fact that they seal so well and I don't have to squeeze and roll like I did with the foam plugs which tended to get "funky" within a few days.

I wonder how these would be?

I think I will try the ones we get at work. We use them for working around jet engines and they are free, plus I can get almost an unlimited supply.

They are the ear seals and were under $4.00, don't remember exactly. I think they were on sale too, for a bit less. I picked up a few other things and it was less than I thought it should have been.

I've had a cold, a sore throat, pink eye, another sore throat and more of a cold since June 28th. I've hardly been on either of my two wheelers at all this month. I also had a sinus infection and I didn't trust my balance and didn't want to take any chances on two wheels. Thanks for asking.
