Ok. so after frying my stator, r/r and boiling over my battery, i've decided to get rid of the goats belly. Then i started looking at pipes. V&H look nice, but damn.....$300-$400 ouch. so i looked some more. Then i found this:

http://www.globaltecheng.com/ProductCart/pc/viewCat_h.asp?idCategory=64&prodSort=&ihSize=1.5&ihMaterial_of_Construction=&ihWall_Thickness=&ihDegree_of_Bend=&ihCenterLineRadius=

It is pre-mandrel bent pipe. then you cut the lengths and so on to what you want, then weld them together. Granted i have no welding experiance, i've got a friend who works at honda. I am sure he knows someone who does. So just curious if anyone has ever undertaken custom pipes on anything, car, boat, plane, motorcycle. I dont plan to chrome them, but to use exhaust wrap, and header paint them black...:p

Also, and the back cyl have its exhaust manifold flipped to come out on the same side as the front. If it can i will be shooting for a 2-1 strait drag pipes. I bet these things will be loud. I will prob use 1.5/2" all the way through

I have fabricated things out of pipe. Bend and weld and it is a very challenging thing to do. I was woring with a rollebar for my dunebuggy and didn't care if it looked good. Making an exaust pipe would be really tough. I met a guy once who did custome pipes and he charged $1000 for a set.

I think the v&h exaust is not a bad price for what ya get
nice crome pipes, look's better then factory, easy install
about an hour or so, and have the option to remove or
leave the baffels in when every you want to have it
super loud, and pipe's are even on both side's.......

I would think the one thing that could cause some difficulty in doing them yourself is the back pressure.
Ya might end up needing to re-jet the carbs if they are alot different than stock.
But then again, ya might not.
