I've plugged the reed cover and im sure that no air is getting by the plug. I installed the HD crush gaskets and tightend both side equally to the torque specs. I've tightend the rubber boots leading to and from the carbs. The problem is with the front cylinder only. The rear cylinder has no popping at all with the mix screw turned out 2.5 turns. No matter what mix screw position I am getting terrible popping from the front cylinder. Any thoughts out there? I've got my screws out about 3 3/4 turns. The last quarter turn actually brought the idle speed up about 200 rpm. The last quarter turn also reduced the popping, a little. Rubline 07-09-2006, 09:06 PM I guess ill call V/H tomorrow and see if they can come up with a solution. I've read somewhere that the jets in the carbs were modified and the popping was eliminated. Its embarrasing to have the bike popping like that. If the popping cant be eliminated to my likeing, I'll go ahead and install the stock setup. vulcan460 07-09-2006, 09:16 PM Well you can look at it this way ,we have a one of a kind bike. hyperbuzzin 07-09-2006, 10:36 PM It is very possible that with changing the exhaust that you'll need to re-jet the carbs. I'm still trying to get my dirtbike carb set just right. They can be tricky ! Woody 07-09-2006, 10:57 PM Rejetting might stop it but unless you increase the intake of air you aren't going to gain much although V&H recommends (I think) 1 size larger idle and main jets. It should be on the instruction pages, if not call there tech line. 750 FREAK 07-09-2006, 11:24 PM I had my bike in the shop and the shop mechanic said that the reason why it was backfireing when coasting was b/c there is a little valve or something that had to be replaced...i forget but he did what ever he had to do and it stopped... hyperbuzzin 07-10-2006, 01:15 AM :smiley_th :pepper: :motorcycl That's good news !!!
