I took the slop out of the throttle - it's outlined in the owner's manual and quite an easy adjustment. I did this last week to my Suzuki and wish I had done it sooner! It made a huge difference in control and feel and even seemed to reduce felt vibration on the Suzi. I haven't ridden the Vulcan yet but it feels better already. I did put some silicone grease on the threads and worked the adjusters back and fourth so they'd be easy to adjust and wouldn't get stiff or frozen.

Well my throttle does feel better - more control, in a tactile sort of way. It's not the huge difference it was on my Suzi but the bars/riding position are totally different. I mention this because I rode a neighbors VN750 and all the controls were out of adjustment, and I suspect had been like that since day one. It took some pleasure out of riding it and made it feel crude. That ride did however turn me on to VN750's because after that I immedialtely started looking for one!

My 750 came off the showroom floor with like 20 to 30 mm of play instead of the 2-3 it's suppose to have. I know what you mean. Getting all that slop out of there makes a huge difference. And it is easy to do, isn't it?
