i have been looking for the extended backrest for a long time, and for a good price. i havent been havinmg any luck sofar. i stumbled on a site called kawasakipartsnation.com. i typed n the part number for the backrest (which is k53043-049a) and the price they showed was 148. and some change. the best price i have found for a new one so far. i went to my dealership to pick up some parts and told them and guess what, they said they would match the price. thats the first time i herd of that. i guess it never hurts to ask , mine should be here in a week.:smiley_th:beerchug:

Any chance you want to unload the original short one? I am about to start fabrication to make my own.
