: Me and FallGuy are attempting a ride saturday plus Ky lake attempt?
beavis 07-07-2004, 02:57 PM Me and Fallguy are attempting a ride saturday here around this area going somewhere who knows this saturday 10th. We havent met so it will also be a first time meeting for me of any member of the group. Maybe we will also ride together to Ky lake rally one day (If we dont decide to stay over). Deffinatly planning to come for at least one day. When is that pick pitchin contest again?
Seriously, If you could only attend one day, whitch would be the best day to come?
a contact person to phone when almost there so We can find you guys?
anyway just a thought.
:)
Flemdog 07-07-2004, 03:25 PM If i were you two, i'd try to contact Pick through his email for any of that info. I don't have one of those cell-phone thinga-majingies, if i did i'd have you call me when ya got close. I think Pick would be your best try. Hope this helps. Flemdog
beavis 07-07-2004, 03:40 PM thanks, now ill just have to find out picks email address and see how that goes, any body know of it can send it to me at 1beavis@bellsouth.net

Flemdog 07-07-2004, 04:09 PM Go to the 750 board on Yahoo. To the right of subject it says "Name/email" click on that and you can then send Pick a Message. It says Jim Foster. It looks like you are responding to the board but it really goes to the personal email. Flemdog
UncleGomer 07-07-2004, 08:30 PM Beavis,
I'll have my cell phone (thing a ma jiggy!) with me. I'll e-mail you the # off board and if nothing else you can call me (if Pick doesn't have his). I'm assuming I'll get a signal there but with Cingular I never know.
Dianna posted a rough agenda (was it here? Must be on Yahoo). Friday sounds like it's going to be more riding and wrenching. Saturday will have riding and RIBS! Jax and a few others are not coming til Saturday so that might be your best bet.
Flemdog 07-07-2004, 10:23 PM They got cell phone "thing a ma jiggy's" in Mayberry!!! Damn, I still use an 8-Track Cassette for music up here (i'm not too sure if them other cassettes and CD things are really gonna catch on). Flemdog
Vince is right -- if you can only make one day, make it Saturday. That's when the most people will be there. Just be aware that if you arrive in the morning or early afternoon, we may be out riding!
My contact info is in the "VN750 Members" Database on the Yahoo site.
beavis 07-08-2004, 10:51 AM Saturday is probably a good day then. Would like to get to ride with the group,, will there be 2 rides, a morning and evening or just one all day long?

Probably can't do it Sat (have to add air to our shocks after all that food, plus Jax' rib sauce woul dmake our grips sticky), but I think it's be neat to do a Twilight ride. Can call it the Mike Oliver Memorial Cool-of-the-Evening Ride
beavis 07-08-2004, 01:39 PM just another question, is tent camping allowed near the cabins, if so how much money per day to put up a tent, me and wife may come for the whole time if there is place for tent and somebodys bathroom to freshen up in.
UncleGomer 07-08-2004, 02:01 PM For anyone who would like to camp, there is a nice campground 3 miles from the resort -- www.beespringlodge.com (http://www.beespringlodge.com/) .
I'll confirm with my cabin mates (Moki and Keith C) but I suspect you'd be welcome to 'freshen up' at our cabin (#5). Knowing this group, I suspect most any of the cabins would welcome you.
If you do come for the whole time, will you still be coming on thebike or switchto cage for your wife? I think I mentioned a bunch of us are coming up from Atlanta/Rome GA and could meet up with you somewhere around Nashville on that Thursday.
48 days, 22 hours to KL2!

beavis 07-08-2004, 03:06 PM Well, If we camp I suspect we will take the truck and tow the bikes behind because I cant Imagine packing all that gear on the bikes, but will be glad to know we will have a welcoming shower room somewhere to clean off all the camping grime the next morning, and be ready to go for a ride!!!! yes it sounds really nice, and if there is a leftover bed, we may stay there instead, but cant be comitted to that, but wife has been wanting to go camping anyway so maybe we can get it going that way and cover my interest-bikes, and hers-camping all in one trip
we need to use that tent some anyway.
havent gone camping in 2 years now

There are NO camping facilities at the resort. However, there is a campground about 3 miles away - check out http://www.beespringlodge.com - I think they have showers there, but of course you would be welcome to freshen up at any of the cabins I would guess.
