: Anybody wanna meet?

Anybody wanna meet this riding season? I know it's difficult to plan but I'm thinking about just throwin' a time and place out there and seeing if anyone shows up. I figure there's a better chance if people have plenty of advanced notice. I'm thinkin' a weekend in August.

We could meet in my town maybe - Clinton, NJ. It's in farm country so it's got real nice riding. There's a Holiday Inn right across the street from me too and I'm sure I can find a place to camp near by if that's preferred. The restaurants are stellar and there's even tons of room in the back parking lot of my development for your bikes if we want to barbeque or whatever. Let me know if anyone's interested. And yes, before you ask, I'll try to make sure Carrie's there. LOL!!

If Carrie's gonna be there, you might want to post this where there is more exposure. I suspect many here would try to make it! Not sayin' we wouldn't like to meet you LP, just stating the facts.;):notworthy:beerchug:

Fair enough ruger, I hear ya! Hopefully Slim and I do meet and we can make a pit stop at your place. That'd be fun...

you both will be more than welcome to stop by, but I'm a little bit (a lot!) North of slims rout. I'm about 2 1/2 hrs North! I would think it would be easier for you and slim, for me to ride down there and then escort you West through most of Ohio.

Ruger, I need to go through two towns in suth eastern Ohio.. Another forum member, "ifixit" lives in Wintersville, and I have another friend that got out of the army a couple years ago that lives in Zanesvile, My anticipated rout is very flexible however. After meeting my two friends, heading in any direction is not out of the question, as long as we don't eat up all of LP's vacation time. I should have close to 60 days of Terminal leave, and I only need 15 of them to actually settle back into the civillian life and start collecting a normal paycheck again.

Vacation time's not an issue in fact, I'm thinking about taking 2 weeks for the hell of it and enjoying another week off once I get back from the road trip. If the ride cuts into that, so be it. I'm flexible with the route as well...

Everyone else makes it! And, you're already used to riding on dirt. Just bring along some wire cutters...

I doubt I could outrun the border patrol pick up trucks through the desert on the Vulcan lol

But hey, you guys can cross the border any time, so if you ever wanna see what hell is like (120+ weather), come on down for a visit!! lol

Hey LP,
My driveway will hold 20 bikes and we're 15 minutes from some of the best roads in the northeast....Lancaster County.
Put Carrie on the back of the bike and come here...:beerchug:

I'm in. Hey, if our route is that flexible, maybe we can hit as many people as we reasonably can on our way there. Can't go WAY outta the way, but a little wouldn't hurt...

LP,

Got an idea. If you guys are headed out to Ohio how about posting a map of your route. Then those of us within riding distance of your route could meet up and ride a day or so with you along the way. We would just head back towards home when we had to.

Does that make any sense?

Liberty Pilot,
I am in a little south of Clinton. I am in South Brunswick right next to Princeton and I am always up for a ride. Right now I am still doing a little work on the front light assembly and hope to have things finalized within two or three weeks depending on the chrome time. I meet up at the Brass Ring (Diner - Pennington, NJ) on Sunday mornings when I am not working for breakfast and ride with some of those bikers. I am not sure if you know that group or are interested. It is a complete assortment of riders and interests. Most times I ride afterwards into PA with about five or six friends for a few hours and head towards Frenchtown before splitting up and making our way back to different homes. I will let you know when I am back on the road and request that you let me know when you have riding time available. This is my second season riding and I am looking to put in as much time as possible to gain more experience.

^ Awesome, I've ridden with a member here before but I just moved to Clinton back in Oct so I don't know too much about how things work or who to ride with. I'm always game for a ride though. I'm free most weekends and work is pretty flexible with my time off. If you get time and want to ride, just hit me up at libertypilot@gmail.com. Just include your first name and a reference to this site so I can ID you. Short notice isn't even a problem as evidenced by this passed weekend's ride. A member here hit me up at 9 pm Friday and I met him 9 am Saturday for breakfast. Damn good time too...

Thank you, Liberty Pilot. I will contact you when I have my bike ready for the road. I am always interested in meeting up with new people and finding new roads to ride. I work midnights and on those days I am free from bout 9:30 AM on. Since I work every other weekend I do have free time during the week so we should be able to coordinate a good time. Thanks for the offer. Contact me anytime and we will work it out.

^ E-mail usually goes through a little faster than communications through this site. Most peoples' personal e-mail goes right to their phone anyway. Do you have an e-mail address I can use? If you don't want to post it here, PM (private message) me with it. Lookin' forward to a ride!

Sweet, a Zville pitt stop. This just keeps getting more interesting lately. I go the first few years with meeting almost nobody to a whole slew of you. Freek'n cool! So, now I have something else to look forward to, besides the second annual Hocking Hills Gathering. :)

Hey guys,

I expect to have my ride ready in a couple of weeks. I've always been a solo rider int he past, but that was years ago and in a different state. Not quite sure where is a good place to ride in Jersey, but if you guys are up for a ride and can stand riding with someone who needs to learn how to ride in a group let me know. I would be willing to meet up with you guys down in your area as you both seem close to each other. I think there are also a couple of guys up near me in Morris county, I forget who, but maybe we could all meet up sometime.

Let me know what you guys think.

BTW, my schedule isn't as open as LP's since my wife works weekends and I take care of our daughter :baby: when she works, but I can always get my mom to babysit if I got a weeks notice.

^ Cool!! And as far as rides go, 40 to 45 minutes is nothin' and that's how far Clinton is from Morris county. I feel like an actual ride is shaping up here. Vulcan 2000 is in, I'm in, sounds like Kid is in, I can always hit Ron up and see if he's got time - this could actually happen!

Kid, get the bike, get licensed (MSF), practice practice practice, and we'll see you in season! Keep us posted too, we love hearing about new bikes! Oh yeah, and if you don't want to get e-lynched, post some pics once you get it. ;)

I am trying to finish up my bike now and hope to be up and riding in a couple of weeks at the most. I will keep the Jersey riders in mind as I am looking forward to meeting more riders. There are plenty of good places to ride within a short distance of Clinton, Morris County, and the Princeton area. I will post when I am on the road and we can set something up.

Keep riding and stay safe.

Hi,

I just joined the group, just got my Vulcan, and am very interested in meeting other riders. I'm about an hour away from Clinton but could definitely meet up with you down there or along the way, depending on your route. Please let me know the details!

Thanks,

Matt

Liberty,

I was thinking we should start a thread to get a list of all interested NJ riders and see what we can do about getting a real ride set up. There seems to be some honest interest. What do you think?

You mean a contact list? If you're going to ask for people's personal e-mail addresses, let them know they can send them to you via private message. Most of my friends here already have mine but some people appreciate a little more privacy - I don't but some do. LOL!!! Yeah I think it's a great idea, fire it up!
