9,000 Members!!!

THIS time I posted it a few days early so I wouldn't miss it! :loser1::loser1:
Thanks to everyone who has made VN750.com grow and grow!
Note: after some cleanup of inactive members we are now below 6,000 as of 7/30/2011
93VN750 10-27-2010, 10:41 AM Wow! 9,000 members, quite a tribute to your hard work with this web site. Thanks again for all your hard work keeping this the best 750 site there is.
Jon
OlHossCanada 10-27-2010, 05:08 PM That`s funny Anthony. I guess we did razz you a couple of times when you missed the next millennium mark being passed. Thanks from me for all the work you do here too.
I think the forum has doubled in membership since I joined a little over 2 years ago. This is the best and most active mc forum that I have run across. Unfortunately there only seem to be several dozen of us who are regular posters here. I consider many here to be another part of my family and friends, but I will not likely ever get to meet many of you in person. However, one forum member, Haithabu aka Phil Garber from Canmore stopped in to see me in August for a visit and share a meal, while riding his new Honda Varadero on his way east to visit family in Ontario.
I hope this forum continues to be the wonderful resource it is for vn750 owners for many more years.
Yeah, I figured if I missed another one, I'd have to delete some members just so I could say I didn't miss it again!.............. Kidding! ;)
hyperbuzzin 10-27-2010, 07:26 PM I think the forum has doubled in membership since I joined a little over 2 years ago.
Since I joined, it's grown close to 9000 times!!
And here's to the next 1000!!!! :beerchug:
Thanks for all you've done here, DMAG!!
Hope ya stop by often (as often as possible atleast) once you're done being Admin here.

I would be curious to know how many members are still active on the site. I suspect there have been a lot that have joined, but have moved on for one reason or another.
According to my crystal ball, they are all active. Just not all here. :)

In post #12 Rook quotes some interest numbers from a post of voipdoc`s on a previous thread.

Sorry Hyper, you have to go to remedial math class.:boxing:
Since you joined the forum has grown by almost 9,000 members.
You are member #7, so 9,000/7 means it has grown by ~1286 times.;)
How do you know he's member #7? Is it just common knowledge?
FlacoLove 10-28-2010, 02:39 AM oh yea, you guys really are funny!

Yeah, while I really appreciate this site and those that make it happen, I can't get excited over inflated numbers. At best, there are 300 members keeping the site "alive" with posts and of those, maybe 100 with more than 30 posts in the past year. Would be interested to know...Of the 9000, how many have not logged in more than once?
That said, I will continue to enjoy the daily camaraderie.
Ceal....you can mouse over your name to see your member number...you are #8549.
jetmax 10-29-2010, 09:00 AM What's my number? Nevermind found it at the bottom gray status bar. Was looking for a popup when I havered over my username. Happy member 8997 :)
I pick up my 1999 VN750 with 7k miles today around noon :)
Also would love suggestions on things I need to do to the bike. My side covers do not have vulcan 750 on them. I'd like to just get chrome ones like i've seen on some of your bikes.

You've already been given advice here, but you may want to start a thread in the introductions section.
You'll get awesome info. Welcome.

OK, I'm not seeing mine? What's the trick here.
Flap1 10-30-2010, 05:51 PM OK, I'm not seeing mine? What's the trick here.
Hover your cursor over your screen name and look down at the lower left of your browser window. There should be a URL with a number at the end. Those digits are your member number. In your case 4112.
hyperbuzzin 11-03-2010, 07:01 PM Only 4 more members needed for the BIG 9000!!
But how is Jet member 8997, but there is 8996 showing on the Portal Page?
You can go to 9041 and it shows members?? Hmmmm???? Spammers been un-counted??
:-/ too many spammers showing up! Where are the mods in this business?
Dianna 04-23-2011, 05:41 AM At 2:56 am.. this mod was sleeping. Sorry about that. I'll try not to let that happen again
EQPlayer 08-07-2011, 08:26 AM Website now says there are about 5500 members. Was there a mass purge of old / inactive accounts?
Dianna 08-07-2011, 08:31 AM Yes, Rather then purge the thread I added this note to the original thread..
"Note: after some cleanup of inactive members we are now below 6,000 as of 7/30/2011 "

I only saw this post today lol. I didn't mean you, I meant to say the owners. Your help is greatly appreciated, it just seems to me that the guys who now own this site don't really care about it at all and are never around.
The DEUCE 01-07-2012, 10:53 PM I've noticed members with a VN750.com member number; is there a running list to see what my number is?
Vulcan2000 01-08-2012, 11:26 AM I've noticed members with a VN750.com member number; is there a running list to see what my number is?
If I understand the system correctly you are #9300. To view that information I positioned the cursor on the green square with your name, The DEUCE, at the top heading for your message and then the information shows at the bottom of the computer screen just above the bottom horizontal tool bar. I hope that explanation helps you as I am not 100% computer tech trained. There is also a thread some where within the system that points out that the 9000 number is not fully accurate as many members have left or are just not active for more than four or five years now. Looking at the membership listing under "Community" it states that there are 5855 listing so that must be the cleaned up relatively active membership. I hope this information helps.
(I did not read the beginning of this thread before posting my reply to The DEUCE but there is reference to inflated membership numbers and how to check membership numbers. Sorry for the repeated information.)
Gemguy 01-08-2012, 11:39 AM DMAG, DIANNA and others, Thank you for an incredible job well done.

qxinfinity 01-24-2012, 01:48 PM As Horton would say......WE ARE HERE, WE ARE HERE, WE ARE HERE...........
VN750Rider/Jerry 02-16-2012, 02:08 AM I can't help but wonder how many of those former members destroyed their Vulcan 750s with ill conceived and improperly done modifications, and how many current members are in the process of doing the same thing.
nu4noobie 02-23-2012, 08:41 PM I'm still here with 27k on my 2005 vn750. Just ordered some parts to fix a slow coolant leak on the propeller!
