My Wife's cousin was in a motorcycle accident while doing a round
the world trip with a group of friends. We recieved e-mails from him
when he was in Hong Kong, China, India and some of the Russian
provinces. We learned that unfortunately he could not complete his
trip. A note from my wife's Uncle:

Just to let you know that Pawel was involved in an accident whilst
motorcycling near Rostov on Don. A car became out of control on
front of them and Pawel and two of his companions were knocked down.
He sustained a broken arm and a broken leg. His bike was destroyed
completely.

This happened yesterday afternoon (13th) and upon being notified we
contacted the hospital and managed to speak to Pawel. He was in some
pain but he was under competent care. The injuries are not
catastrophic and he will recover from them. I spoke to one of his
companions, who is a doctor and who explained the nature of his
injuries. The other two men sustained much more serious injuries but
I do not have details at the moment.

Pawel contacted the Bulgarian Embassy in Moscow who immediately
informed his uncle Simeon in Sofia. Simeon phoned Pawel and he told
us that our son is in good humor and seems to be well cared for.

All the riders have Medi Jet insurance and an ambulance jet has been
dispatched to Rostov, due to land at 5 PM local time today. It is my
understanding that Pawel and the other two men are to be flown to
the trauma hospital in Seattle which is renowned for its expertise
and services.

Pardon the use of e-mail for this unhappy news but it would simply
take too long to phone everybody whilst we are trying to monitor the
situation in Rostov, as closely as possible, by phone.

Love to all and please say a prayer for his safe return to us.
