Took off for some deserted roads Sunday for what turned into a 500-miler. Road after road after road!
Old Coalinga Road.

Parkfield is dirt for 4.5 miles. Passable by any bike, as long as it's dry.

Saw a few of these. Nice!

Ate lunch at the Parkfield Cafe (yum!). Good food, decent prices. There was a small Harley group there, about the only bikes I saw all day. The rest of the time, didn't see anyone (bike OR car), either direction. Imagine riding hundreds of miles of deserted backroads, ZERO traffic! Was wonderful!

The San Andreas Fault goes right through Parkfield.

Kept rolling, Cholame Road, Highway 41, Highway 229, Highway 58. All of that led me to:

Magnificent Desolation.

Endless rolling hills, vast vistas, open grasslands stretching to the distant horizon. Bitterwater road is the place to be.

After that, just took the freeway home, about 180 miles of yawn. Total ride about 500 miles in 10 hours. Gear up, let's RIDE!
