Light whine most noticeable up to 3k RPM in 4th and 5th gears. With slight decrease of throttle, to that point where no force either pos or neg is applied, it is silent. It whines at 50mph but not at 55 and over. This bike has always done that and may be normal tranny whine, but I'd feel better if some one would say, "mine does that too".
This sound does not come from drive line area.
Before you say it, yes I know louder exaust or riding faster will cure it, and the real whining is coming mostly from the rider.

I would say all the bike make a different sound through the gears then others. They all develop their own sounds. At times mine also makes different sounds at different RPM'S and at different speeds. I would say it is normal for your bike, as long as it does not get louder. Maybe somebody else will chime in and see if they agree.

That is one of the few nice things about wearing hearing aids---those little noises don't come thru!! Course when they become big noises it is sometimes to late.

Mine made a different gear sound from the driver (rear gear box) when I lowerd it.

I'd say it is because you changed the angle of the drive shaft and u- joint when you lowered it,what do you think ?

That and also it probably got more pressure on the spring that keeps the drive shaft snug.

another possibility, or any combination of the two
