I just got a 99 Vulcan 750 with 11k
One owner garage kept MINT
Had her a week and was cleaning it up today...and notice on the back wheel rim gear side...black real black grease on just that side of the wheel. Splatter like on it.
Cleaned it all of and drove it down the road and a wee little bit was on it.
Is this from the rear brake gears or what? Its not all that much on it!

Not to worry a long as it is just a little. Coming out of the rear. Do a spline lube and inspect the oring while it is apart. Check ronayers.com for a parts break down and online manual both free and .PDF files. Search this site for the instructions on spline lube. Welcome to the site and don't be afraid to ask.
PS: The manual and parts list may be at toc manufacturing, I don't rem which site.

Might also be that someone packed too much grease around the wheel hub where it meshes with the final drive and it's slinging around the rim. It just takes a little grease there and any excess will go to slinging. The O-ring you need for the spline lube is part #92055. You'll see the spline lube procedure below in red. Good luck!

Fergie - Where do you get the O-Ring. Is there a standard size or must order from Kaw parts dealer?
