Anyone added a USB port to their Vulcan?

I'm wondering if any of ya'll have added a charging port for your phone, and if so, what method you used... wired how, attached to frame how, etc.

Already favoriting this, ill be looking to do the same soon. Could probably modify the guts of a car charger to fit in there, but youd be on your own with the waterpoorfing probably. You might be able to find a usb mount for atvs, or boats even. I know my father has some waterproofed ones in a rock crawler hud, but theyre part of a whole button/switch bar.

I found a waterproof "cigar lighter" type receptacle at Walmart in the truck/trailer section and wired it in using the accessory leads under the right side cover. Removed the left helmet lock and bolted it up there.....

I've seen some usb charger on ebay that's actually meant for motorcycle. They have a handlebar mount and look very simple with a positive and a negative wire. Can connect the pos and neg wire to the accessories wires in the headlight bucket, or hook it up to one of the front running lights.

Don't take my word for it. I'm just a foolish newbie.
When in doubt, just know that I am only joking around.

Op here. Wow, quick replies! Just so you all know, I already had installed a USB plug before I posted. I'm just interested in how others handled it. Here's what I did:

I already had a 2-pin SAE outlet wired to my battery for a trickle charger during winter storage, so I grabbed a 2-pin SAE 48" extension cable and a Weather resistant SAE to USB adapter with integrated power switch.

I ran the SAE extension cable under the tank using the rubber zip cord half-hidden under the left side of the seat to anchor the one end, routed the midsection of the cable under the tank and behind the fuel petcock and out to the fork stem, and I followed the cable routing there up and anchored the far end and USB port to the rising section of the right handlebar using zip-ties.

I installed a Clutch/Brake reservoir RAM mount with X-grip for holding my phone since the useful sections of the handlebar for mounting space on our Vulcans is scarce. Working great so far.

Just to top things off I threw a handlebar clock on the little bit of handlebar space available just to the right of the clutch handle assembly which has been a blessing.

I can post some pictures of my dohickery tomorrow if anyone is interested.

One last thing... I assume there is a conduit in place running under the tank for routing electrical cable from the battery to the front end. Is anyone aware if I could feed the 2-pin SAE cable directly through that (leaving my trickle charger port free and also protecting the cable better) without taking the tank off? The routing I have now is out of the way, but it seems fairly exposed to heat coming up from the engine.

Having not fitted one to my Vulcan I cannot comment, however I did fit one on my Suzuki DR800, I bought a purpose made waterproof kit on eBay, it was basically plug n play, wired to battery terminals and has an adjustable clamp to mount to bars etc, I mounted mine on the engine bars as there was no room on my Renthal's. It worked great and had its own on/off switch, so it was only draining power when needed

If you want the charger on the handle bars, just use the accessory leads inside the headlight bucket. Run the wire out the back and up to the bar. The accessory leads there and the one under the side cover are fused I believe. They are also "hot" even when the bikes turned off.
